It should be noted that, for interpretation purposes, the French text shall prevail over the English, the latter being a translation of the French original. 

GUIDE PRESCRIBING THE SCOPE OF WORK OF THE «METAL SIDING» SPECIALTY

This guide must be used in accordance with the guidelines.

The tender must be based on architectural, interior design, structural, civil and landscaping tendering documents.

  1. MS. 1 - Supply and installation of interior and exterior coating :
     
    1. Metal siding (walls, roofs, other);
       
    2. Modular metal panels;
       
    3. Non-structural, sandwich-type insulated wall and roof systems made with interior and exterior metal coating, including insulation and other units of the system;
       
    4. Pre-fabricated, non-structural insulated metal panels;
       
    5. Metal girts and sub-girts such as metal furring, horizontal bars and Z-bars, U-bars, L-bars or others, supporting the metal siding;
       
    6. Wood furring installed over the steel girts and sub-girts, such as steel furring, horizontal bars and Z-bars, U-bars, L-bars or others, supporting the metal siding;
       
    7. Metal attachments, mouldings and flashings and accessories required for the installation of the metal siding; 
       
    8. Metal soffits and fascias;
       
    9. Sealant required for the waterproofing of the metal siding and between the metal siding and other material;
       
    10. Compartmentalization of metal siding works.
       
  2. RM. 2 - Work specifically excluded :
     
    1. Structural units such as a plates and corners at the bottom and top of walls, roof and openings;
       
    2. Pre-fabricated, structural insulated metal panels;
       
    3. Polyurethane insulation sprayed into non-pre-fabricated sandwich-type structures;
       
    4. Pre-fabricated insulation panels required for controlled environment or clinically clean rooms, except if included in other sections related to metal siding;
       
    5. Copper siding;
       
    6. All architectural wall coverings for curtain wall systems;
       
    7. Metal roof shingles (shingles and diamond).
