GUIDE PRESCRIBING THE SCOPE OF WORK OF THE « REINFORCING STEEL » SPECIALTY
This guide must be used in accordance with the guidelines.
The tender must be based on to structural and civil tendering documents.
- RS. 1 – Supply and installation:
- Reinforcing steel and metal mesh;
- Shear heads (« stud rail »);
- Crane, unloading and handling subject to Article RS.3.23;
- Reinforcement dowels including drilling and adhesive;
- Mechanical couplers;
- Protection of exposed rods;
- Reinforcing steel cages in caissons and piles;
- Prefabricated thermal breaks for reinforced steel, such as Isokorb or other types.
- RS. 2 - Supply only:
- Reinforcing steel for rock anchors;
- Reinforcement dowels for piles.
- RS. 3 - Work specifically excluded:
- Surveys, lines, levels, templates;
- Reinforcement for ground borders;
- Rock drilling;
- Vertical and horizontal reinforcement for masonry block walls;
- Dowels for masonry block walls mechanically anchored to concrete, including drilling, bonding and epoxy;
- Installation of reinforcements for underwater work;
- Fibers for concrete;
- Reinforcements welded to metal sections;
- Expansion sleeve, heat-shrink tubing, thermoplastic;
- Anchoring bolts, threaded rods;
- Scaffolding, platform;
- Barge;
- Thermal breaks other than 1.8;
- Dowel baskets;
- Smooth bars, grease and cartridges (for expansion and construction joints);
- Dowel system for construction and expansion joints not made of ribbed reinforced steel (« Speed dowels »);
- Steel plate dowels or tie rods (« Speed diamond »);
- Post-tensioning;
- Replacement, cleaning and straightening of existing damaged reinforcing steel;
- Reinforcement for precast concrete elements specified in tender documents;
- Steel beams and steel structures used as reinforcement in concrete structures;
- « Dywidag » or other post-tensioning systems;
- Crane, unloading and handling for construction camps.
